About L'Esprit de France Bienvenue! Welcome. My name is Linda Kerekes. L'Esprit de France is dedicated to the charming designs of the French countryside. We are a full service interior design firm for residential design. I have been an interior designer for over thirty-five years. I come by my love of France naturally as my paternal ancestors came from the Eastern region of France called the Franche-Comte loacated in the Jura Mountains. My earliest relatives date back to the 15th century. My family was one of the first twelve French families to come to the United States under the reign of Louis IVX, the Sun King. They were protestants, called Huguenots. There is still always a member of each of the twelve families on the board of the Huguenot Society even today. After studying fine art at the University of Oregon for two years, I received certificates of graduation from Tobe-Coburn School for Fashion Careers and the New York School of Interior Design. About five years ago I switched the focus of my design business to specialize in French Country design. Two years ago I started the needlepoint and knitware part of the business. I have always designed needlepoint canvases for my clients and used them in showhouses. I know there are others who share my love of French design with it's charm and warmth. This style is perfect blend of sophistication and comfort and creates a joyous environment for friends and family.
